My 3 year old daughter started ballet classes. These images were captured the first time she put on her little leotard and shirt. Her innocence as she danced in the shadows and light inspired me and brought a sense of tranquility and quiet. Enjoy.
Here is a sneak peek of a fun family session of four beautiful children. The shoot took place at their home, which just happens to be right on a lake. Their dock and the sunset made the perfect setting for beautiful family photos. More photos will be posted on Facebook later today, but for now enjoy this cute image of their silliness.
While we are gearing up for our Holiday Mini-Sessions here at K. Barber Photography (if you missed that post, be sure to check out the great deals by clicking here), I thought I would show you this precious picture from my shoot this Sunday at Hollis Gardens. Isn’t this stair-step picture of them adorable? The little lady up front is blessed to have three older brothers to watch out of her in the future.
I am headed out this Labor day weekend to photograph a wedding in Pennsylvania. It should be a wonderful trip, so I will go ahead and tell you all to have a fabulous weekend!
A new month.
A time to reflect.
I stumbled upon this website and have been encouraged, challenged, uplifted and spurred to action! All from a visit to a blog. Oh, how I love blogs!!! Anyway! The point is, I am going to take a picture every day for the month of May (and hopefully post it every couple of days. I would LOVE to think I would blog daily, but with my crazy life? Forget about it!) that captures one of God’s gifts in my life. I was encouraged by this post and this free printable. It says nothing about a photo, but the photos on this blog are amazing and I was inspired! And I am a photographer and think that pictures say it better then I ever could! Now my husband is an English major and he would be able to adequately express his thanksgiving for the gift’s God has given us. I, on the other hand, like to tell my stories through images.
So here it goes:
God’s gift: pink eye free children and husband
God’s gift: willing eager feet, with the possibility of the future
All of these adorable kids are cousins. Grandma picked out their outfits and I am thrilled with how vibrant and alive they look in these images. Hollis Gardens was the perfect location to photograph this spring session because their were so many gorgeous flowers everywhere. The city of Lakeland does a great job maintaining the beautiful landscaping at Hollis Gardens. It is the location that I photograph at most because so many people know that every inch of the garden is a perfect backdrop for pictures.
This is the second time I have had the privileged of photographing their family, and boy, do I love repeat business! That tells me that they enjoyed their first experience and their images, and decided that they wanted to stick with me for their portrait needs. That is music to my ears!!! Thank you, “A” family for allowing me to capture these precious pictures of your family in their Easter outfits this year.
And sometimes, the shot you hope to take just doesn’t turn out….
As a photographer, I take pictures all the time. Believe or not, I actually take a lot of pictures of my own family as well! You wouldn’t be able to tell lately, because I haven’t been editing or posting pictures of my family in months. Months, I tell you!!! My personal Facebook page is very neglected of family pictures. Poor Facebook page! I decided that would change today! I actually decided to change a lot of things today, but that is a totally different topic all together!
I spent this afternoon outside with my two beautiful children and I brought my camera with me. I snapped as we played and thought I would share some photos from our time outside. Aren’t they super cute? I’m a little partial, but they really are my best looking subjects (beside my husband, of course!).
